Mt. Elgon is a non-active volcano on Uganda’s border with Kenya and produces some of the country’s most sought-after Arabica. It produces coffees with bright acidity, good body and floral, citric and chocolate flavours.
Of all the coffee-producing countries, Ethiopia is perhaps the most compelling. The explosively floral and fruity coffees from Ethiopia have opened many a coffee professionals’ eyes to the diversity of flavour that coffee can have.
Rwanda coffee beans are sourced and exported by Roots Origin Limited, a Rwandan social enterprise that is passionate about coffee, and the farmers who grow it. Approximately 40% of the 800 farmers are female.
